On “One Thing You Can’t Do In Heaven” by- Mark Cahill

“What are the only three things that can happen when we share our faith?” Usually the correct answers the way we see are as follows:

(1)    The person can accept Jesus Christ.(Good – Winning)

(2)    The person can reject Jesus Christ. (Bad – Losing) => According to the Word of God = > (Get Reward –Be Glorified)

(3)    We can plant a seed. (Good – Winning)

But what the Bible  taught us is: 1 Peter 4:14. which says, “If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: On their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified,”(Which means that we will be blessed and the glory of God will rest upon us if we are rejected in the name of Jesus.)

Luke 6:22-23 says, “Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil. For the Son of man’s sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in Heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the  prophets.”

Just by knowing the Word of God, we learned that every time we share our faith it is a winning situation. We don’t ever have to worry again about Satan trying to talk us out of witnessing, because the Word of God says that we can’t lose doing it. It is a winning situation every single time!

“How to answer everyone”:

Colossians 4:2-6 says, “Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”

1 Peter 3:15  tells us to “sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”

When witnessing, though, even if you answer every question, that does not mean the person will be saved that day. So don’t feel pressured to have all the answers. The Spirit of God has to draw the lost to Himself; we just plant the seed. The more we know, however, the stronger our faith becomes, and the more we can help the lost as they search for truth.

Let’s take a look at some of the basic questions and arguments you may encounter in witnessing.

1.  Can you prove that there is a God?

Romans 1:19-20 tells us that “that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse….”

One of the basic proofs for God has four points:

(1)   Creation, (2) Design, (3) Art, and  (4) Order.

People will have no excuse before God if they claim there wasn’t enough evidence for Him, because the creation speaks of a Creator. How do we know a building had a builder? Just by looking! The building itself is the proof that there is a builder. This universe itself is the proof that there is a God.

2.   How do you know the Bible is True?

“What is truth? (John 18:39 – Pilate asked Jesus). In John 17:17, Jesus says of God’s Word, “thy word is truth.”  Definitely, all of the Bible’s internal information points to it being the true Word of God.

(1)    The Bible is the best-selling book in the world.  Approximately 150 million

Bibles are printed per year! No other book even comes close.

(2)    The Bible claims to be written by God.  2 Timothy 3:16 –“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God……”; 2 Peter 1:21 – “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” The Bible certainly claims its authorship is divine, not human. The Bible uses “thus saith the Lord” and similar phrases over 3,000 times.

(3)    Historical evidence supports the Bible.   No one has yet been able to identify a single historical mistake anywhere in the Bible. That it self is amazing. If man wrote it, we would certainly find historical errors after all these years – but there are none.

(4)    Archaeological evidence supports the Bible. To date, archaeologists have not discovered a single thing in the Middle East that has proved the Bible wrong. As a matter of fact, each additional discovery continues to prove it true. There have been more than 25,000 archaeological finds relating to people, places, and events in the Bible, and not one has contradicted anything in the Scriptures. That’s incredible proof of the Bible’s trustworthiness.

(5)    Fulfilled prophecies validate the Bible. They also are proof for God. The Bible is the only book in the world that contains hundreds of very detailed prophecies and every single one of those prophecies has come true in the minutest detail, except for the few remaining prophecies about the return of Jesus Christ to earth. (eg. Micah 5:2 => Luke 2:4-7; Zechariah11:12,13=>Matthew 26:15;Psalms 22: => Matthew 27:35). The Bible is a compilation of 66 books written by some 40 authors over 1,500 years. Its internal consistency and fulfilled prophecies proves its divine origin.

3.   How can Jesus be the only way to God?  Aren’t there many paths to Heaven?

As our society becomes more pluralistic, increasing numbers of people think all faiths are equal and that people should simply believe whatever they want to believe. If people could have remained on any path or the good-works path and still gotten to God, then Jesus did not have to endure an excruciating death on a cross as payment for our sins. The Bible says that He did this voluntarily, because He did have to lay down His life for our sins. He never did anything meaningless in his entire life. He was sinless and always did everything perfectly.

Once we repent of our sins and place our trust in Jesus, we are “born again.” He comes to live inside us through His Holy Spirit, giving us absolute assurance that we now have eternal life.

Talk about the Ten Commandments, repentance, the cross, and what the shed of blood of Jesus can do for them. The following verses may help you: Isaiah 45:22;  John 14:6;  1 Timothy 2:5; Acts 4:12.

4.      I don’t believe in Hell, so there can’t be one.

Hell is a very real place, according to the Bible. Jesus spoke of it 33 times, describing its horrors in graphic detail. It is a place of eternal, conscious torment. We need to convince people of its reality and warn them not to go there.

Conclusion:

There are only two kinds of people on earth: those who are lost and those who are saved. In eternity, the only thing that matter is whether you have accepted or rejected the salvation God offers in Jesus Christ. God will not force you to accept Him. He can draw you to Him. But at some point you must surrender your life to Him.

The Ten Commandments – the Law of Almighty God- holds every one of us guilty before God because we have broken that Law. So the question is: Will you repent, turn from your sin, and surrender your life to Jesus?

In Matthew 6:24, Jesus tells us, “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and Mammon”.  Joshua 24:15 says, “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Who will you choose to serve? I pray you will choose to serve the God if this universe with every fiber of your being. I really hope to see you in Heaven one day!
